Approved Parish Council Policies

Policy One – Intent: to Establish a Book of Parish Policies. A book of policies will be prepared and maintained in the Parish Office, and published in the Parish Bulletin, after each policy is approved by the Pastoral Council, the Finance Council and the Pastor. Policies will be reviewed periodically and at least annually. The Business Administrator is responsible for maintaining.



Policy Two – Intent: to Create Awareness and Approval of Plans and Spending Programs. The Finance Council will prepare the consolidate annual budget. The Pastoral Council will prepare their annual capital expenditure plan and present it to the Finance Council



Policy Three – Intent: to Create Parish Awareness and Approval of Spending Programs. All projects or programs (not routine staff items that are budgeted) no matter the source over $2,500 must go through the Pastoral Council for parish needs and priority evaluation, then to the Finance Council for overall evaluation and recommendation, then to the Pastor for approval Any project or proposal over $20,000 must be approved by the Dioceses.



Policy Four – Intent: to Avoid Conflict of Interest. A parishioner can only serve on one major committee/ministry at a time. Major committees and ministries are defined as Finance Council, Pastoral Council and Parish Staff. This policy is designed to enable a parishioner to devote quality time to one major committee/ministry at a time, for the good of the parish and the church, while avoiding conflicts of interest.
